This is a complete all-holofoil card set of MARILYN MONROE: THE SHAW FAMILY ARCHIVE "UPDATE SET" trading cards. This set was produced in 2008 by Breygent & consists of 33 cards in all (#1-#32 + unnumbered checklist card). The cards feature photos of American Icon Marilyn Monroe taken by legendary Hollywood Photographer Sam Shaw.

The card backs have EXTENSIVE text about the life & work of Marilyn as well as detailed information about her film roles & most notable events in her life.

All of the photos of Marilyn in this card set are by legendary photographer Sam Shaw, who began his career doing photographs for Collier's Magazine in the 1940's

 but soon found that his interest lay more in documentary work than the staged studio shots he was asked to do.

By 1951 he had started working in the film industry as a special photographer and his work on The Seven Year Itch created the iconic image of Marilyn over the subway grate.

 He met and began working with her early in her career and continued to shoot her through most of her professional life. Not only did Sam Shaw create some of classic Hollywood's most celebrated images,

 but he was also a pioneer to a new artistic style and technique that paved the way for independent filmaking.

This boxed "Update" card set is a must have for all collectors. They were printed in a limited print run (only 900 sets worldwide!)

 & were a complete sell-out by the manufacturer as soon as they were released!

This auction is for the complete base set of "Update" cards. You get all 33 cards that make up the base set,

 plus you get 2 offer cards that were also inserted in the box. No "chase" cards or other rare cards are included.
