The auction is for a 1^st Edition SIGNED Paperback copy of the highly acclaimed book George Best A Celebration. His life story told through over 200 black, white and colour pictures with many stories from original owners of rare and unique items of “Bestie” memorabilia.

George Best memorabilia is becoming increasingly rare since his death in 2005. It is collected Worldwide (100,000 people attended his funeral in Belfast and an estimated 100 million people either watched on TV or listened on the radio.)

In addition to the book signed by the authors at Borders in 2008 (Borders signed sticker on the book cover). There is a price list for approximately 50 finished prices for George Best memorabilia from June 2008.

Included is an Ulster Bank, mint, original £5 note, display wallet and original application form (the 1million limited edition notes sold out in Ireland in just 4 days in November 2006, one year to the anniversary of George’s death) The story of the £5 note is published on pgs 320-323 of the book under the title “Limited Edition immortalizes The Best”. On pg 321 appears a picture of the late Dickie Best at the launch holding two handfuls of notes.

There is also a photo of Bernie Smith (one of the co authors) pictured with two of George’s 1968 European Cup winning team  - Alex Stepney and Paddy Crerand holding the hardback book George Best A Celebration.

This item can have a written dedication by the authors at no extra cost if requested by the winning bidder at the end of the auction.
