Thank you for looking ...
Appearance & Subject: This is a charming little Maling bone china trio of cup, saucer and tea plate.
The trio is decorated in a charming pattern of flowers of the fields, with delicate transfers of daisies, buttercups and forget-me-nots.
The cup is fluted and has a handle shaped to look like an emerging seedling.
All three pieces have a pie crust edge.
There is a frosting of gilt to the rim of each piece and to the handle.
VERY VERY PRETTY!!!!
EXCELLENT COLLECTOR’S ITEM!
Why not treat a loved one, or yourself?
TRIO DISPLAYS WONDERFULLY.
Manufacture: English – by C.T. Maling & Sons Ltd. of A & B Ford Potteries, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
All three pieces are marked, and the mark used was employed from 1890. It was superseded and began to be replaced by another mark in 1908, but may have been employed for a little longer after that date on some items.
This trio is therefore either late Victorian or early Edwardian, and dates to circa 1900 (1890 to 1910).
Condition: Excellent / Very Good.
The general condition is excellent.
However there is a hairline crack in one side of the cup. It descends about a third of the way down the side form the top rim. It has not separated though and the cup is still stable. It is difficult to spot, and would not greatly affect how you can display the cup.
There is also a small and minor blemish in the gilt on the cups rim.
GREAT BUY!!!!!!
