Lyons Coffee & Chicory Extract – bottle-shaped recipe booklet 1930s.

This is an attractive and interesting recipe booklet that was published by J.Lyons & Co Ltd of Cadby Hall, Kensington London W.14. It is in the (actual size) shape of a bottle of Lyons Coffee & Chicory Extract, measuring just over 8” high and 2” wide. The booklet contains 32 pages of recipes that include Lyons Extract. There are two sections – Cakes, and Puddings and Sweets. The booklet shows minors signs of handling and also the stapes are missing. (This is actually a good thing as although there is a small stain by the holes, I think the staples were removed on purpose and so worse staining was averted!) As my picture shows, the book makes a nice display item and also if you want to actually make any of the recipes using a similar product then that would be nice and interesting too.
