The Resort

The Loch Rannoch Highland Club is a select group of timeshare lodges on the banks of Loch Rannoch in Perthshire, Scotland.

Don't worry that there's no road shown on the map - there is one off the A9 at Pitlochry which passes Loch Tummel! The village at the east end of the Loch is Kinloch Rannoch, which serves the resort with hotel, shop and garage.

The aerial picture on the left shows the village of Kinloch Rannoch either side of the river - the bridge takes you across the river to the shop.

The picture below is from the Kinloch Rannoch village end (the east end) of the loch - the white buildings on the right are the Lochside Apartments, the Apartment Block, the Studio Block and the Loch Rannoch Hotel.

Further up the hill and obscured by the trees in this view are the other lodges.

All lodges have a direct view of Loch Rannoch and the south bank of the loch. Many also have a view of the famous "Monroe" mountain, Schiehallion.

Situation at the Resort

The management of the Club changed hands in July 2003 and the new management have already provided significant improvements on the resort to the benefit of timeshare owners; digital phones, satellite television, new televisions and combi video/DVDs have been installed, a remarkable improvement in the facilities in a short time. There is also internet connection available on site.

The nearby Hotel provides restaurant and bar facilities, but at the time of writing does not offer access to the Hotel swimming pool. A wide variety of water and country sport activities is available - see Barking Mad Activities for what's available.

Additional Costs

The Transfer Fee (the cost of transferring the Holiday Certificate from the current owner's name to yours) will need to be paid to the Club to complete the transaction; you will receive an invoice with the transfer documents. Be careful if comparing my timeshare auctions with others - I have seen Transfer Fees of £346 to transfer a single week in other auctions!!!

You will receive an invoice from the Club for your first occupancy once the transfer is complete or when your occupancy is due, whichever is earlier.

The fees have yet again been held at last year's level - two reductions in fees and four no-change since this management company took over shows a good control of costs whilst still providing luxury accommodation.

The only other costs are incurred when you occupy; you pay for electricity used and phone calls made on meters, and those are not charged at hotel-style rates as they used to be.

Payment Arrangements

On completion of the auction, you can either pay instantly by PayPal, or you can pay by Credit or Debit Card, Cheque or Direct Bank Transfer (see below for details).

You will need to supply the full name, or names, to go on the Holiday Certificate and the address for the Club to register the certificate to and post the transfer request form to. If these are not the details that you have registered with eBay, please let me know immediately

You will need to mention the Lodge, the week number and eBay when you contact the Club, so they can tie up the payment with the lodge.
