Luxury Holiday Accommodation in the South of France

You are bidding for 7 nights accommodation for up to 6 people in one of our large, 3 bedroomed cottage-style mobile homes which are based on the 4* Le Pre Catalan holiday site near Perpignan in the South of France.

We own 2 Acacias units, the largest and most luxurious on the site.  They comfortably sleep up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and the other 2 have 2 single beds in each.  Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, with fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric coffee machine, toaster and microwave.  There is a shower room with wash basin and a separate toilet.  Each Acacias  unit has a huge decked terrace of 15 square metres with tables, chairs and sun loungers.  There is a barbeque and a security safe.

Le Pre Catalan is a 4* site just 15 minutes from Perpignan at the beautiful resort of Barcares.  It is a relatively small site with about 250 units and it is fastidiously managed by Francois Galidie and his English born wife Jenny, who is my sister-in-law.  It is a very clean, well maintained site, which has a very relaxed and friendly family atmosphere.

As you would expect of a 4* site in France, the facilities are superb.  There is an excellent, but reasonably priced restaurant which has regular themed evenings, a snack bar with take-away service and a shop (with fresh bread every morning!)  There is a laundry and a small library with English books. Internet and spot-wifi are both available.  But the new pool complex is proving to be the main attraction!..........

Completed in May 2009, it is a larger addition to the existing pool. Emphasis throughout it's design and construction has been the needs of families with young children.  It has a variety of water features including a small island accessed by a bridge, 3 cascades, water jets,a whirlpool and it shallows to nothing at one end for very young children.  Both pools are heated throughout the season.  Surrounded by palm trees and with ample free sun loungers and pool furniture, it is an ideal place to sunbathe and to relax with a drink from the poolside bar.

Froggy's bar and a full live entertainment programme each night, means that there is plenty to do every evening.

There is a very varied Activities Programme.  The Childrens' Club offers fun and learning for children over the age of 5, with daily workshopsorganised by a trained and enthusiastic team.  They will be able to meet new friends, develop new skills and every week in July and August a show is organised which is prepared and presented by the children.

There is a full sporting activities programme, which includes tennis, table tennis, basket-ball, volley-ball and petanque.  In july and August there are aquagym lessons and scuba-diving tuition.  For the 4 weeks of the World Cup there will be live coverage on large screens.

The Le pre Catalan is situated just a 10 minute walk from a truly spectacular 8km. long beach of white sand.  Lidl and Champion supermarkets are also a 10 minute walk away as is the village of Barcares with it's bars and restaurants.  As well as offering easy access to the beach, the site is only a few kilometres from the lakes at Leucate and Salses where various water sports are very popular.  The foothills of the Pyrenees  and Mt. Canigou are only a short drive away.  Perpignan offers excellent shopping and sight seeing and is a great place to eat with numerous reasonably priced restaurants.  Alternatively, you may choose to have a day in Spain.  The border is only a 40 minute drive away.

You can fly direct to Perpignan from London and Birmingham with Ryanair and from Southampton with Flybe.  The journey by hire car or taxi to the site then takes 20 minutes .  However, Ryanair have not yet published their flight schedules for Perpignan for 2010.  However, they have published flight times and prices from a number of Uk airports into Barcelona-Girona, which is an easy 1 hour drive to the site.  For 2nd to the 9th May flights are from £10.99!!  Other airports an easy drive from the site include Carcassonne, Toulouse, Beziers and Barcelona.  Also a number of our visitors from the UK use the channel ferries and drive down to the site.  For advice on flights and car hire just get in touch.

A deposit of £20 secures your dates and the balance is paid in April 2010.
