This lot is for new black buffalo horn mekugi peg for a katana or iaito(Japanese Sword). This item was bought new in Japan and is 5cm long and tapers from the polished end. This horn is favoured by sword builders as it is stronger than bamboo and the polished horn contrasts well with the same. This mekugi can be cut to the exact length which you require, or could even be used as two mekugi where double pegging was required. However-if this was the case only one peg would have the beautifull polished horn end(get your dremel out to polish the offcut!). This really is at the luxury end of the mekugi market.
