Here we have a used but great condition Lowe HF-225 Communications receiver. This AM radio covers 30 kHz non stop right through to 30 MHz. Smooth tuning with an old style tuning knob. This radio was originally bought by me in about 1991 and it's from a smoke free home. It is still in a very nice condition and works great. In fact I tried it before creating this listing. The audio sounds good and I'll be really sorry to see it go.

Also included will be the official Keypad so you can input the frequency direct and the official external high quality loudspeaker made by Wharfedale. I also have the original Manual and will throw in a free copy of a review of this receiver. The review/evaluation is "A Radio Database International White Paper". This is very very detailed and is 27 pages long.
Please note this receiver includes the D-225 Detector Unit, which is pre-installed. This detector unit in fact combines two separate detectors in one unit and provides narrow-band FM reception and synchronous AM detection for the HF-225. Quoted from the manual: "Synchronous AM detection can offer improved audio quality compared with the normal envelope detection, especially under band conditions where selective frequency fading occurs. The FM detector will allow monitoring of FM communication channels, but it is for narrow band signals only and will not work with FM broadcast signals".
With a simple wire you will get some great dx with this radio, so bid confidently and get yourself a nice set, you wont be disappointed as these sets are very much sought after.

I am selling an aerial / antenna if anyone is interested. The antenna is a magnetic loop and can be used with this radio if required. This will be listed separately.
