Lovely vintage gilt metal Roman Leg Seal with a Squirrel stamp 

Details

This auction is for a vintage metal seal. I can't be certain how old it is but believe it dates from the late 19th Century.

It really is a fun item, I haven't seen on quite like this before.

It is made of gilt metal (I did think it might be hollow gold but there is no hallmark so should be bought as gilt metal)

It is in the form of a leg and foot. Based on the knee support and sandal, I think it is supposed to be a Roman Soldier's leg.

The seal section which is to the underside of the foot, is in the form of a squirrel eating a nut.

The seal measures 34mm in height and weighs 4.3 grammes.

Condition.

It is in very good condition. Please see the photos
