Having been involved with Lotus cars, initially as a Lotus enthusiast/specialist and main dealer for nearly 35 years I specialise in the classic Lotus cars from 1957-1975, mainly Lotus Elite MK14, Lotus Elan, Lotus Europa, Lotus Elan +2, MK1 and MK2 Lotus Cortina, Twin Cam Escort and finally Lotus Super 7 and Caterham 7. I still remain a Lotus enthusiast and have a modest collection of Lotus cars. We can also provide full facilities i.e. sales, rebuilds and full/partial restoration and rare spare parts etc. I invariably have various classic Lotus cars for sale, please feel free to call or email or look out for my advertisements on Ebay. I have available a 1966 Lotus Elan Series 3 DHC. This vehicle has lived the majority of it's life in the Channel Islands and was reimported back into the UK and was going to be fully restored by us (Neil & Ken Myers/well known Lotus classic Lotus restorers) but we decided to use this car as a mule for our 6 speed gearbox which we are marketing for the Lotus Elan and +2. Consequently the car has been mechanically rebuilt as it had to serve a purpose of testing the 6 speed gearbox and also driven by potential customers, motoring hacks and finally the Chairman of Club Lotus. The car proved totally reliable when used by various drivers. It is now surplus to requirements and requires a new home. The car needs total refurbishment and is sold as a restoration project but has an MOT, taxed and fully refurbished mechanically and chassis wise. The following is a list of work carried out on the vehicle: Fully overhauled Lotus chassis, brakes, discs, shock absorbers, steering rack, gearbox, diff, engine, brake pipes, new bushes, nuts, bolts, washers, callipers, bearings. The wiring loom has been made useable. The car is not the prettiest in the world but if you take a bit of time to look at the panel fits they are very good and it is mechanically sound. There are a lot of original parts needed but I will go through these with any prospective purchasers. The car does drive very well and when fitted with the 6 speed was a revelation. We would be happy to undertake the restoration of this Lotus Elan. A small deposit required and balance payable upon collection. Should you require any further information or wish to view please email or call 07860 391320. Part exchange considered on any of the above mentioned Lotus vehicles but especially require Lotus Elite MK14 Series 2 for restoration, mint or immaculate Lotus Elan DHC Series 3 and mint Lotus Elan Sprint DHC.THIS LOTUS IS SOLD SUBJECT TO CHEQUE CLEARING.17/10/09 |
