Up for auction are four great bottles. I will describe them from left to right.
Bottle #1 : Is a great pepper sauce or pickle bottle? It measures 7 1/8" tall by 2 3/4" wide. The base of the bottle has nice indentation on it. The lip has been crudely applied The bottle has a few stretch bubbles. There is one very small chip on the lip and a few minor surface scracthes. The bottle has not been cleaned.
Bottle #2: Is an amber medicine bottle. It measures 3 1/4" tall by 1 1/4" wide. The flared lip and neck have been applied. There a many small bubbles throughout. There are no known chips or scratches. The bottle has not been cleaned.
Bottle #3: Is a whiskey or beer bottle. It measures 11 1/2" tall by 3" wide. This bottle has an applied double collar with some great rippling and embedded dirt in the lip. The base appears to have an iron pontil...hard to tell as there are what appears to be pock marks from once embedded dirt in the base of the bottle. The color is a beautiful green!!!
Bottle #4: Is a beer bottle. It measures 7 7/8" tall by 2" wide. The blob top has been applied. The glass is a deep olive green in color...beautiful. There is a great stretch bubble in the neck. The base is smooth. No embossing on bottle. Great waves to the glass.
These bottles are part of a 1965 dig at Clay Station. Clay Station was a stage coach stop along the route from San Francisco to The Mother Lode. You can click on this link to find out more info about Clay Station. http://www.claystationwine.com/Story/History/
