This is a history of the locomotives of the NCC, which was a significant part of the LMS empire in Ireland.
William Scott's book traces the history of the NCC locomotive fleet back to 1847, when the first locomotives were built for the Belfast and Ballymena Railway. He describes every NCC locomotive built between then and the end of the steam in 1970.
As well as steam, there is coverage of NCC diesel locomotives and railcars.
