In this pack you will find a variety of files to help with the day to day teaching of literacy and supporting wall charts and displays. Files are in Office 2003 format (Powerpoint, Publisher, Word etc please check compatibility) and are fully interactive, therefore you can adapt them to meet your needs, add your school logo or change labels, names and colours. The photographs are an example of the types of files and posters within the pack. I have been teaching for 9 years and I use my own resources, unfortunately some people seem to have started to cash in on resources which are not well thought out at all. Our job is time consuming enough and I hope that my resources make life that little bit simpler! Alphabet – A class alphabet on fruit (please note, fruit does not match names eg ‘a’ for apple) but this is great for a healthy eating theme or printed for display lettering. Ascenders – A Power point presentation, simply 3 pages which allows children to see ascenders, decenders and normal letters. Can also be printed as a poster. Bookmarks – Change child’s name to customise, encourages reading. Create An Alphabet ….. – An activity sheet which can be used for vocab / word level work. Children create an alphabet for a certain theme, it could be topic or subject based, for example an alphabet of words to do with Greeks. Don’t Use Said – A collection of words which can be used instead of ‘said’. Pasted on colourful lips to help children vary their writing when tackling speech. Genre Posters – A set of 8 posters explaining different genre features and hints on how to write in each one. Text can also be deleted to use on IWB during input to remind children of features and the structure their work should take. Line Guide – A line guide for you to print and laminate for ease of writing on plain paper. Letter Sounds Posters – A set of posters containing 2 letter sounds per A4 sheet. These give written and picture clues to short vowel, long vowel and consonant sounds. Great for a wall display to encourage children to think of the sounds when spelling. Over 60 posters in all. Punctuation Clouds – Clouds showing punctuation with explanations, useful for display. Punctuation Cards – Large print punctuation for you to print out, cut and allow the children to stick on punctuation to large writing. Punctuation Fans – A fan set showing punctuation. Question Stars – Stars showing question words, useful for displays. Question Word Fans – A fan set showing question openers. Reading Assessment Questions – Incredibly useful for guided reading sessions (more for use with KS2 although some questions could be used with KS1.) Questions for all reading assessment foci. Spelling Pack – Resources made after reading spelling bank, this particular set includes all of the Year 3 and some of the year 4 activities. WALT WILF WAGGOL – Posters containing WALT (We Are Learning To) the cat, WILF (What I’m Looking For) the dog and WAGOLL (What a good one looks like) These are often useful displayed at the front of the class to ensure the children know their learning objective and what is expected of them. Word Mat – Includes all R and KS1 High Frequency words also includes days, months, numbers, colours, alphabet and space for ‘tricky’ words. Word Meanings – Useful posters explaining what the words verb, adjective, adverb and noun mean, use the ready created posters as a template to explain more literacy terms relevant to your class. Working With A Partner – A poster giving the rules of working with a partner during speaking and listening activities. These files will be sent to you on a disc by first class post. Please note the price of postage also includes the price of the disc the resources are sent on. Payment by Pay Pal only please (postal orders accepted by prior arrangement only). Postage abroad remains the same price however delivery will not be so fast. Many thanks for looking, permission is given for resources to be adapted but people will be reported to ebay if these files are then resold.
