This Lion of Judah silver ring was bought from a jewellery shop in the Merkato market district of Addis Ababa along with various other items of silverware. Its origin is unknown other than it is made of solid silver by local craftsmen.
The ring fits snugly on my little finger (I am 6'1" and weigh 200lbs) although it could of course be adjusted to fit a larger or smaller finger.
It would be of interest mainly to Rastafarians or others with an interest in Ethiopia and the Lion of Judah. As with much of the local silver jewellery produced in Ethiopia the ring bears no hallmarks but I have had it confirmed as solid silver by a jeweller in the UK.
I'm selling this ring as part of a house clearout . I can post it immediately.
The ring is in the usual condition for old silver i.e. perfectly good with a general appearance of having been around a while.
