A Plan Of The Town Of Spalding In South Holland Lincolnshire.
As Surveyed Delineated And Humbly Presented To The Gentlemen's Society by John Grundy in 1732.
Facsimile edition with no date or publisher shown.
The sheet measures 44.5" x 31.5". The actual image measures 43" x 30".
Large scale detailed facsimile map with 12 vignette views of Spalding.
The Rare original 1732 map of Spalding and environs by John Grundy, an early member of The Spalding Gentlemen's Society, a surveyor, mathematician and engineer is much prized by historians.
The sheet has thinned in some areas where it was probably removed from a board. There is yellowing which appears to be varnish, some loss to the top left corner affecting the vignette of Spalding Parish Church, there is also some loss to the bottom left corner not affecting the image.
A reasonable copy of a scarce facsimile Spalding Town Plan.
A useful reference for Lincolnshire and Spalding local historians.
