Liberon Gilt Cream ideal frames & furniture St Germain

Liberon Gilt Cream is a soft cream wax compound. Used to retouch damaged gilding or for giving a gilt finish to new surfaces as the cream can also be used as a finish on its own, although for porous or new surfaces like wood or plaster we would recommended applying a coat of Liberon Fontenay Base to seal the surface before applying the Gilt Cream.

To apply;

Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from dust, we would strongly recommend using a tack cloth.  Apply with your fingers, soft cloth or a short bristle brush for intricate areas.
Allow to dry for a minimum of 4 hours, (24 hours if possible) and either leave the finish matt or buff to a shine. For a better finish we recommend applying several thin coats of the gilt cream rather than one thick coat. The gilt cream can be thinned with Liberon Pure Turpentine or good quality white spirit.

Liberon Gilt Varnish is made from bronze powder colouring agents in a liquid acrylic varnish medium. This makes the varnish easy to apply, and suitable for many surfaces including wood, pottery, metal, glass and plaster. All Liberon Gilt Varnish colour's are fully intermixable to get a perfect colour match; the finish colour can also be toned or patinated if required using Liberon Gilt Cream. If applying to new or porous surfaces we would recommend applying a coat of Liberon Fontenay Base to seal the surface before applying Gilt Varnish
