LEICA IIIg CHROME BODY.
The IIIg was the last
Leica
screw thread body; the ultimate development of a camera line that
stretched back to the 1920s - or even earlier if you consider Leica
inventor Oscar Barnack's Prototype cameras. The IIIg was
introduced in 1957, some three years after the first Leica M camera, and
production terminated in 1960. The IIIg incorporated many improvements over
previous Leica screw bodies, and for this reason it has always been regarded as
the most desirable camera of this genre to own and use. This example is in
good clean condition showing signs of normal use. There are no dings or
dents, and no deep scratches, but there are some light rub and shine marks
on the top and base. The Vulcanite covering is perfect -
no rub marks or bits missing. Shutter is working on
all speeds, and so is the self-timer. Rangefinder is clear and operating correctly. Ser No is
847803. Ser No on box does not match that of the camera.
