DIY Guitar Shop Left Handed LP Style Guitar Kit With Flamed Maple Top Mahogany Body

Our most popular LP style guitar builder kit now available as a Lefty!

Like all DIY Guitar Shop builder kits, we spec'd the DKL03F-L's flame top mahogany body and maple neck without the thick epoxy sealer found on other similar kits. This allows the builder the freedom to complete real stains and sunbursts as well as solid or oil rubbed finishes.

A great project for the more advanced builder.

The DKL03F-L LP style kit is intended for the more advanced builder and is the perfect base for further customisation.

There is some minor woodwork required with the DKL03F-L kit in the body trimming necessary to fit the glue-in set neck and installation of the bridge and tailpiece. Never fear- These topics are well covered in the assembly instructions.

The humbucking pickups, 3-way selector switch, and dual volume and tone controls are unwired to allow for custom configurations and modifications of components or functions. Soldering is required.

NOTE: The kit above is shown as an example only and is not the kit up for auction. Body & neck timber grain will vary.

DKL03F-L Specifications

BODY: Unfinished, unsealed, pre-drilled and pre-routed two piece solid mahogany with bound flamed maple top.
NECK: 22 fret maple w/ bound rosewood fingerboard, set neck (glue-in), with installed pre cut top nut, pre-shaped headstock with pre-drilled tuning machine holes.
PICKUPS: 2x chrome covered humbuckers
ELECTRONICS: Unwired 2x A500K Ohm and 2x B500K Ohm pots, 3 way selector switch, 2x tone capacitors, output jack, and black & white hook up wire. Wiring diagram included. Some soldering required.
BRIDGE: Chrome T-O-M style and stop tailpiece with posts and bushings
TUNING MACHINES: Chrome 3x3 sealed type with ferrules and screws
PLASTICS: Cream scratchplate, pickup and switch rings and cavity covers
OTHER HARDWARE: Chrome output jack plate, strap buttons
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: Including neck to body fitting template, finishing recommendations, and suggested wiring diagrams. With photos.
