This is a Backsight for the 'Rifle Magazine Lee Metford Mks II & II* and the 'Rifle Magazine Lee Enfield Mks I & I*'. During the Boer War, it was noticed that the service rifles shot considerably to the right. To correct this, a backsight with the notches in cap and slide cut .030" to the left was produced. This is an example of that type of sight leaf, this one is SK marked and has a Sparkbrook inspection mark. It is in excellent condition with a nice tight slide. UK postage $1, payment by cheque, PO or Paypal. Worldwide airmail shipping $4, Paypal only. |
