A large, multi fossil Orthoceras specimen from the Devonian age Limestone deposits of Morocco.

This specimen is as pictured and measures 140mm x 165mm and weighs 1.2 kilos.

Approx 350 million years old.

As can be seen from the picture this slab contains 2 good quality fossil Orthoceras shells and an area of the rock in the middle of the slab has been shaped and polished to add symmetry to the piece.

Orthoceras were a type of squid-like creature with a pointed conical shell (fossilized here) that teemed in the oceans of the Devonian period.
