Lovely painting.  Thick oils, which enhances the richness of the dense woods behind the mill and the solidness of the large granite blocks and huge wheel. 

Crouch is a West Country Listed Artist name, with art history.  However, I cannot find, with my limited resources, any information about this particular A.R.H. Crouch.  The work is competently done and hints at the artist being trained.  On the back of the frame written in neat blue ink is:  The Old Mill.  /  Lamorna.  Cornwall.  / A.R.H. Crouch.  Wiveliscombe.  Som.

Original period frame. Thin wood painted silver, linen instep.

Condition: Frame has scratches.  Linen instep is marked and pulled in places.  Painting is in very good condition.  No damage.  No repairs.  Colours are vibrant.  Signature clear.

Overall lovely picture.
