Papyrus is made from the Cyperus Papyrus Plant which grows well in the River Nile.

The ancient Egyptians started making paper from the Papyrus plant over 5000 years ago and became one of Egypt's major exports.

In the same way that we have different kinds of qualities of modern paper, the same was true for Papyrus paper.

Today, not all Papyrus purchased in Egypt is actually Papyrus.  Much of the art sold and also here on Ebay is made from Banana stalk or Banana leaf, which is cheaper to produce but inferior in quality.

I am selling the true Papyrus, but these ones are mixed and are made from the Cyperus Papyrus Plant and Banana leaf, darker in colour, but still excellent quality and very vivid colourings.  Each one of these Papyrus's comes with a certificate of authenticity.

These Papyrus's are larger and measure 24½ x 16½ approx and will look lovely framed or on their own.
