This is a large musket flint recovered from the 1805 wreck of the East India Company ship The Earl of Abergaveny.

 It would have been used in the Brown Bess musket. This recovered flint, part of the ships cargo, comes with a brief history of the ship wreck. The flint received will be similar in size to the one in the photo.
