Background:

I’m a graduate of BEng Electronics and Computer Systems from Kings College University of London. Before my graduation, I worked as a data recovery specialist for about 2 years. After my graduation I joined a laptop repair centre by the name of MCS Ltd and have been working with them for more than 2 years. I hence have 4 years of specialist experience in this field.

During this period I must have opened, examined, repaired and serviced more than at least 400 laptops of different brands personally, as well as following on other colleagues’ works. I’ve now decided to offer the same services we have at MCS Ltd as my own personal business across the UK, run alongside it in my spare time during the evenings and the weekend.

I will be offering these repair services at a lower rate given my customers are happy to receive a part-time based service. Although this means more number of days may be required for any service job, I’ll attempt to fulfil most requests within 48 hours of receipt. The turnaround may, however, be increased in cases where a replacement part needs to be ordered.

One other advantage of my service is yet again in my connection with MCS Ltd. MCS Ltd has also been active in UK’s computer fairs for many years and stock a range of computer components such as hard disc drives and memory modules. This means you’ll have access to a wide range of components needed for replacement, upgrade or even for testing purposes, available at very low prices, not even found online.

To summarise, I’m offering you a professional service for the lowest possible price.

Services:

Laptops can have many different faults. Some are hardware-based and some software-based. In occasions, hardware damage can create software corruptions, too. This listing is for the service outlined in its title and is priced accordingly. However, should you have more than one problem, the service can be bundled with the followings for a discounted price.

The services offered are split into two categories, i.e. hardware and software. The tables below outline the services offered as well as the price for each, in comparison to MCS Ltd’s price list whose prices are already competitive throughout London. Please contact me if you need a bundled price for this service and any of the followings.

Laptop Delivery and Collection:
My aim is to give you a professional service that leaves you a pleasant experience, at the lowest possible price. For that the cheapest option is that you deliver me your laptop and collect it after repair, cancelling any charges for delivery. However, it is obvious that this may not only be inconvenient for some, but also impossible for those living far away from me.

That is why I’m offering you a collection service using one of the major UK courier company’s for £10 either way, summing up to a total of £20 for your laptop’s entire journey. That means your laptop will be collected from you and shipped to me for £10, and back to you after the repair for another £10.

This is the cheapest solution I could find. Therefore, if it is not possible for you to drop and collect the laptop at my address, you can add £20 to the total cost and have the convenience of the laptop being collected from and returned back to you at your home’s door step. The service I will use will deliver within 24-48 hours, hence convenient to all. Collection times, however, are restricted to weekdays between 9:00am – 5:30pm.

I must also emphasise that I cannot be held responsible for loss of or damage to your system when it is in the hands of the courier service.

Packaging:
If you decide to have the laptop collected from you, you must insure that you use appropriate amount of cushioning material (e.g. bubble wrap) and house the notebook and its power adapter within a strong box.


Payment:
I will accept cash payments for collecting customers, and PayPal for those using the courier company. Please note, payment must be cleared before the goods are released.

In regards to the pricing, I’ve done my very best to keep the costs down for you. Hence, I will not be accepting any requests for price reductions/discounts

Warranty:
All hardware repairs/services are eligible for 3 months warranty, although the delivery costs must be repaid by customer. I will note down your laptop's serial number and have them on my database to distinguish whether or not it's been repaired with me.

Regarding the software, however, no warranty is given simply because people can quite easily get infected with a virus or play around their operating system and cause corruptions

In either case, all systems will be put to test before being shipped back to you

How to apply:
To apply you can contact me and discuss the problem, pack your laptop into a box with appropriate packaging, email me your collection address and a convenient collection time (Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:30pm). The courier service will visit any time between your specified time (after 9:00am) and 5:30pm. That is, if you wish to limit the time span for collection, you could ask for a collection between, say, 3:00pm and 5:30pm. I will then arrange for the collection.

If you live close to me, I may be able to collect and drop your item for a charge of £5, either way. Please contact me to arrange for collection
