Land Rover 90 DEFENDER 3.9 EFI V8 Auto, ARB, Rollcage

Hi All - This Landy was listed last week, but owing to me being dragged away last weekend, I was unable to show it to those who would have liked to bid.... SORRY ABOUT THAT BIDDERS! So I have now uploaded some better pictures that show how clean and rust-free this machine really is, NO RESERVE and I have included a BIN price. This landy HAS TO GO....

Landrover 90 Defender – A fantastic looking and sounding V8 head-turner and unstoppable green-laner...

Defender 90 4.0 V8 Auto and LPG. Fully rebuilt by enthusiast and EXTREMELY CLEAN. Fitted with an ARB pneumatic diff-locker, Whitbread roll cage, 2” OME lift, Warn winch, Kenlowe fan (with override), central locking, Removable face Kenwood CD+2000w speakers, CB radio... All receipts and a pile of paperwork 2" thick!

Although regestered in 1986, I am fairly sure that the aluminium body is the only thing that has not been replaced in the rebuild! This drives like a brand new defender, and starts immediately every time. Many many thousands spent on this landy, and all kit is either new or nearly-new!

This is a beloved project and complete re-build - including Galvanised chassis, Red polybushes throughout (VERY tight to drive and not a single rattle), fully galvanised Whitbread rollcage,  ARB air-locking diff, raised bumper and Warn winch. It has also been fitted with the Gwyn Lewis challenge suspension kit, with BIG dropout and OME shocks. Diff guards and heavy-duty steering rod. The distributor has been waterproofed and the Kenlowe fan has over-ride for deep wading.

Tyres are BFG Mud's, which I have found give solid off-road performance, but without the bad road-habits of some of the other mud-dedicated tyres out there.

This is a QUICK defender, which is super-clean and also has LPG fitted so it is half the price to run! This has not only been my project but also my wife’s daily vehicle... very clean internally, with CD player, 2000w boxed speakers, CB radio, sealed panels and central locking. Defender Dash centre console air pressure gauge and 6 switches (with spare ones to control flood lights / rear working lights / front diff locker / etc in future). It comfortably cruises at 80 and sounds GREAT. On the road, it does not drift or shudder. Steering is very direct and responsive - something Landies aren't normally famous for! To keep it clean, the loading, seating and footwell areas have been treated with black polyurethene gripseal compound so you can just wash it out with a powerhose if it is REALLY muddy inside.

Ready for work or play and also has a pin/ball hitch on the back for towing (although it has only been used to tow once).

I have to sell it now because my wife is expecting our second baby and it can no longer be used for her daily runaround as it has done in recent years.

I also will throw in winching strops, block and chain. If you would like a further project, I will throw in a power take-off compressor with bracket and airlines and all valves (air tank required but you can get these anywhere) for onboard air (just needs fitting). I haven't had time to fit it all but by doing so you would have a very high-capacity onboard air system for running tools, fast tyre inflation, etc. Original bumper, diff, sway bars etc are also included. Also there is a farm-jack mounted on the rear.
