This is my old Lancia Convertable. I have owned it since the middle eighties,( not ages!), it ran very well, but I decided to strip it down, shot blast the body, do the necessary repairs and then rebuild it. Unfortunately, circumstances intervened (divorce) and the work has been on hold ever since. It has been kept in my barn in the dry but I have had to rebuild the barn and it is now sitting in the corner of my workshop, very much in the way. I will not have the time to rebuild it as there more pressing jobs that have to be dealt with. Consequently, it now needs a new home. Bodily, it is solid, the floors are good, as are most of the body panels. The doors are the worst, being cobwebby along the bottoms. The cills are solid too. There has been some welding done to the various body panels over the years, which is also solid. The original bumpers are intact with the proper number plate lights but will require re-chroming. As can be seen, the engine/drive unit is still in the car complete on its subframe. There are 4 bolts that hold it in place, the rear axle is similarly held, these being temporary fitted in order to move the car about. The tyres are shot, but all hold air. All the parts are with the car, boxed up, including a reconditioned radiator. The hood is in surprisingly good condition, as are the seats, and there is also the original hardtop. I think the mileage was around seventy thousand when I drove it into the barn, it hasn't done much since, although a few hundred around the country on the back or various trailers!
Clearly, it will require a dedicated person to rebuild it. However, they are relatively simple cars, the power unit was working and will turn over, although I havent attempted to start it.
There is also an injection engine available. Harry Manning stripped in down for inspection, declared it sound, but sadly died without rebuilding it. All the parts are also boxed, the heads have been skimmed, and there is a full gasket set with it. this engine is NOT included in this auction, but can be negotiated seperately.
I have a reserve set for the car as whole, if it does not reach that reserve I intend selling the car in parts. I have plenty of photos that I can email if I am asked.
My phone number is 07870553153, I will be glad to answer any questions you might have, but not over this weekend, please, as I have a family gathering to attend.
