There is the cost of the bags, the bubble wrap, the foam peanuts, the envelopes, the plastic bags, the tape, the paper to print, the label to print your postage, the time taken to input all the information the petrol to get to the post office (as our local isn't available anymore). I think people often think that because it's on Ebay it's not really a business just someone with a bit of time on their hands looking for something to do, selling the odd piece here and there, that's not what or who we are. My charges are made up of three components - the postage cost, the packing materials and a handling fee (including final listing price). I usually use new postal cartons for most items, but will use recycled materials where suitable and available. As a full-time business I don't aim to make a profit or a loss from P&P, just on average to cover my costs.
