Colton commando.  2 litre Cortina-based kit car converted it to run on LPG gas at 55p per litre. MOT until the second of August 2008 TAXED to the end of June 2008. I have just purchased a new gas converter for £142 on the 19^th of November 2007.I built and registered this car in 1993.  It was principally built for use as a mobile toolbox in the property service industry.  It has performed this task very well with van like characteristics, strong roof bars, tow bar and the heaviest duty springs all round.  I also fitted   The bestek electronic ignition system and a bespoke immobilizer, after having previous vehicles stolen.  The last five years or so I have only been using the car 2000 miles a year or once a week.  This is one of the reasons for sale.  I previously owned a Ford Escort van and a Ford Cortina both vehicles were excellent but they both got stolen and rusted. So I decided to look for a kit car which combined the best characteristics of the previous two vehicles. I found the Colton commando at a kit car show, the combination of a complete glassfibre body and a really thick steel chassis made this the perfect vehicle for my needs. I constructed this vehicle with longevity and maintenance in mind. The chassis got well painted and the majority of construction used stainless steel nuts and bolts.  I also took a lifetime insurance guarantee exhaust system from Kwik-Fit. Which means I only pay for the first exhaust pipe. I believe this can be handed over with the vehicle. This vehicle has never let me down and is still in good working order.
