This radio is crackle free and achieves a quality reception on all bands. Visually the unit is exceptional although it cannot be described as mint due to some wear to the alloy control knobs, these are available online if you feel the need to replace them. The odd mark here and there is also evident on the case itself, but these do not in my opinion spoil the unit. I myself collect old Radios and I am describing this radio as best I can according to my own high standards.

All five of the original station indicators remain intact. The VHF aerial as many of you will know is a black wire that is found behind the rear cover. If you are lucky enough to have a VHF/FM anttenna the integral anttenna can be disconnected easily.

These RM40 are becoming scarce in this condition and in my opinion they offer the best reception of the Roberts range of this era, the original price was prohibative enough so that only the most well healed of customers bought them.
