LOVELY ANTIQUE ENGLISH 9K GOLD AGATE VINAIGRETTE c1820
A lovely quality antique English, solid 9 carat rose gold (tests thereabouts) vinaigrette; beautifully made with fine engine turned decoration, a wonderful rounded bloodstone type agate panel to its lid and opening to reveal a finely hand pierced and engraved hinged grille.
Lovely quality, totally original - fabulously collectable!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Some signs of wear/tiny dents commensurate with age and use, no loss. Lid hinge slightly strained, closes ok with a firm push but doesn't always stay closed, a very simple fix if desired.
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1820/30. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: 34 x 25 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 16.8 grams.
