It automatically set itself up and started working. I must admit that I was amazed at how rich the sounds are that come out of this speaker system. The AudioHub speaker system features an adjustable one-piece, three-chamber speaker system with an integrated subwoofer. You are able to adjust the speakers position so that they clear the sides of your laptop screen. The volume control/mute button on the AudioHub is lit so you always no when it is not muted. And the mute button turns off the sound without cutting power to the integrated USB hub, which has three built-in Hi-Speed USB ports. I love it!!!, January 24, 2008 | OK, let me just start out be saying that I am definitely NOT a computer geek. In fact, I only just got my first laptop (with Windows Vista, by the way) one month ago. One of the first things we noticed with the new unit was that the speakers were really inadequate, sounding tinny, especially at full volume. Well, this audiohub turned out to be just the ticket.
First of all, the unit is entirely plug-and-play, which means that you just plug it in, wait for it to set itself up, and then start using it - no frustrating installation process, no swapping discs in and out, no hassles at all. The sound is excellent, and makes watching DVDs on the laptop to be a much better experience. (It has a volume button; we had wished that the laptop had one!) When I unplugged the unit, the laptop's speakers didn't immediately spring to life, but simply closing the top (putting it to sleep) and waking it back up brought them back to life immediately. Again, no muss, no fuss! I love that!!!
As an added bonus, this unit an attached two-foot USB cable, a four-foot USB extension cable, three USB ports for attaching other devices (and thus keeping your laptop from looking like it's on life-support), and a bracket for a webcam.
On the downside, this audiohub is a little large, and does not connect to your laptop. That means that if you want to use it on your lap, you are probably out of luck. Well, just place the laptop and audiohub on a desk, and it works great.
So, as a guy who is easily intimidated by complicated devices, I can tell you that this is a great piece of equipment for me. I love this audiohub and give it three very loud cheers (which would sound great if you could hear them on these speakers)! | | |  Just About Right!, 25 Jan 2008 | | I have Logitech X-140 speakers for my desktop and found that these speakers actually sound a little better. The "AudioHub", as Logitech is calling it, is just the right size for carrying a concise sound system with your notebook/laptop. The left/right speakers adjust to fit any size laptop with a long power cord and integrated USB cable for your laptop. There are extra USB ports behind the speaker for convenience and an attachment for a webcam. It's all very compact, but I thought the sound was better than most systems this size. Although the sub-woofer is only 3" in diameter, there is an open port to allow air mass fluctuation for maximum bass. The two 2" tweeters are crisp and clear. The volume control is conveniently located to the side and adjusts `all' sound. Note that this is not a high powered sound machine (15 watts), but it is about perfect for a transient computer system. Once again, Logitech has designed a system that is appropriate for personal laptop use. Plus, the price is great! | | | | Worth Every Penny!!!, Jul 15, 2008 | | Its a great system for any computer!
