LLADRO SOCIETY COLLECTORS PLAQUE, RARE, SIGNED AND DATED.
Measuring approximately 5 3/4"x 4 1/2," this porcelain bisque "Lladro Collector's Society" (LCS) plaque is a rare and highly collectible piece. It was released as a plaque for Charter Members to the LCS for one year only in 1985. (Placa Sociedad Colecccionistas). It was available until 1999 and then it was retired. Many times, it was seen in dealer's collections to add a bit of class to the showcase. And it does do just that.
This bas relief, taken from the 1969 Lladro figure sculpted by Salvador Furio, shows Don Quixote de la Mancha sitting in a chair-- his left hand resting in the pages of a book, and his right hand still clinging to a sword which is now at rest on the floor. The names of the three Lladro brothers, Juan, Jose and Victor are in the front of the plaque as signatures. The back of the plaque in somewhat convex and is in the shape of a shell.
The markings on the base are as follows: slightly to the left of centre there is the Lladro mark .. Lladro.. hand made in spain..daisa 1985. to the front of the base there is a speacial hand written signature and date which only so many of them have. It is dated 23/10/94. with this piece been retired in 1999 the date shows that it was made around the middle of the produced dates. there is also a small impressed diamond and the letters H-23 M, also impressed into the base.
There is no damage marks or cracks whatsoever, this is in superb condition, new but un boxed, although this is un-boxed it will packed with the upper most care to make sure it is not damaged during transport. will be sent first class registered mail.
the price of this Lladro piece is £35 due to the rareness of it having the signature and date, you would be lucky to get it for this price without the signature from a shop. an excellent piece, antique of the future. a must have for all collectors.
