LATE VINTAGE English Sterling Silver thimble by, CHARLES HORNER of  HALIFAX. The thimble is 96 years old and in superb condition. No needle holes, dents or distortions. The base rim is still in the round. A clear set of Hallmarks which read as follows:- Size 7.  C.H.  LION PASSANT, indicating English Sterling Silver . CHESTER CITY SHIELD, the Assay stamp. Upper register Itallic style N., the date letter for 1913. The thimble has a rolled faceted base rim. This is followed by a plain band which carries the Hallmarks. There are some needle scratch here. The remainder of the thimble is covered in the classic Honeycombe pattern. It measures 24. mm. tall, with a base diameter of 16. mm. It weighs a generous 6.5. grams of solid Enghlish Sterling Silver.
