This is large banner/backcloth produced by the Religious Tract Society, 56 Paternoster Row & 65 St. Paul's Churchyard, London. It depicts a court scene where a bishop is being accused of some wrongful act. It is in very good condition, clean, no tears or cracks. Painted in full poster colours (looks hand painted) with eyelets at each of the four corners. I think the material is thin oilcloth or perhaps coated reinforced cotton/linen. Stamped at bottom corner with society's details and the number 183. No date but by the look of the subject matter and materials used I would say pre WWII. Measures 96 inches x 70 inches landscape (2m 44cms x 1m 78cms). Sorry I can't give any more definite details but if you wish to know more please ask and I will do my best to answer.
