LARGE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BEADWORK NEEDLEPOINT FOOT STOOL
An oversized round slipper stool, footstool from the early Victorian era, and in such beautiful colors, this one will thrill you every time you see it. Very heavy, owing to the fact that every stitch on this large needlepoint top is done with a single glass bead. Yes, entirely beaded, this one glistens with rich color and vibrant shine. The base is the typical round style, but is overly large based on the vast majority of these we've had in the past or seen. A base of fine old carved hardwood, raised on 3 spool-like legs, it's just right for propping a lady's foot while she puts on her soft slippers.
Very good condition, a few beads missing but not many and this one would be quite easy to match beads should you get all handy and want to restore the few that are missing. As you can see from our all-sides photos, even left as it is, this one is a remarkably beautiful old thing. Rich floral greens and a deep celeste or sky blue background. Don't miss it!
