LARGE ANTIQUE DUTCH SILVER WINDMILL SPOON GT HALLMARKS

A large solid silver antique Dutch windmill spoon in great condition with a fantastic set of hallmarks. Opposite is the lion mark with the number 2 underneath . This mark was used from 1814 .The number 2 was replaced by roman numerals in 1952. 2 indicates a silver fineness of 833.The key to the side indicates it was made for export.

The silversmiths mark set underneath the head of Rembrandt.

This one is not quite standard. Most date letters are in circular cartouches.Date letter H for 1917, followed by the number 13.

The sword mark was used from 1906 to 1953. They were used to mark excess pieces on fully hallmarked items. In this case the arms of the windmill.

The head of Minerva with what looks to be the letter M.The Minerva head is the duty mark . The letter M stands for the assay office.
