THIS CAR DID HAVE A FAULT WITH THE LPG SYSTEM. THIS HAS NOW BEEN CURED AND THE CAR RUNS PERFECTLY ON LPG AND PETROL. THIS WAS CAUSED BY BOTH COIL PACKS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY AND A £7 VACUUM HOSE. Here we have for sale my Discovery. As you can see below it is a Series 2 model, on a 2000 W registration. The car was bought myself in May 2007. Since I have owned the car it has had a lot of money spent on it, and most of the expensive jobs have been completed. In April 2007 is had a full set of GoodYear Wrangler HP tyres fitted to the car costing £400, these still look new as the car has done little mileage since then. In May 2007 it had a BRC fully Sequential LPG system installed costing £2300, there are more details about this below. In January 2008 it has just had a reconditioned engine fitted that was supplied to me by Guy Salmon Land Rover in Stockport, since this it has done around 4500 miles. As this car was registered before 2001 it still benefits from the cheap road tax unlike the newer models. 6 Months Tax - £104.50 12 Months Tax - £190.00 Please find the detailed description of the car below: It is Oxford Blue in Colour with an Alpaca Leather interior. Benefiting from the Harmon Kardon Stereo, Ice cold Air Conditioning, Electrically folding door mirrors, rear forward facing 3rd row seats. Although the LPG tank takes up the space of one seat. This Discovery has had most of the expensive jobs done including a new engine that was supplied to me by Guy Salmon Land Rover in Stockport. At the same time as the engine being replaced it has had all of the following replaced, they are all genuine Land Rover parts: 4.0 V8 Engine Cooling System Top Hose Thermostat Exhaust Manifold Gaskets Water Pump Water Pump Gasket Low Tone Horn Auxiliary Belt Radiator Coolant Return Pipe Cooling System Return Pipe Gearbox Oil Temperature Sensor Genuine Land Rover Anti-Freeze Castrol GTX Magnatec Engine Oil Rear ABS Sensor Spark Plugs Coils Packs - Famous Four Supplied Not Land Rover Magnecor Ignition Leads (These alone were £95!) Track Rod Ends Replacement Catalytic Convertors Both Lambda Sensors Replaced NGK Spark Plugs Genuine Air Flow Meter (Another £105) 2 Replacement Coil Packs (Another £105) Replacement Vacuum Pipe All of the sensors that were swapped from engine to engine were cleaned and the multiplugs cleaned. The inlet manifold was also pressure washed to ensure that everything was clean and tidy to match the new engine. As you can see from the list above the car has had a lot of the expensive jobs done. In June 2007 the car also had £2300 spent on a fully sequential BRC LPG System installed by AutoGas Ecosse in Glasgow. I have the conversion certificate for the car, and can supply the details for the company that installed the system should you have any questions. The kit has been checked by the company that fitted it after the engine was changed and has been given the all clear. With the difference in cost between Petrol and LPG this car does the equivalent cost wise of around 29mpg. This will give around 150 miles range in town, and I've got from Glasgow to Ulverston on one tank which is 190 miles and cost me £27. I believe LPG is around 49p a litre at the moment. The condition of the car is very good with only very minor blemishes in the body work. The car also has the body coloured spare wheel cover which was an expensive option as well as genuine Land Rover side steps. It also has a genuine Land Rover tow bar with single electrics. This can easily be upgraded to twin electrics with the additional wiring kit available from a lot of tow bar companies or Land Rover dealers. The car is MOT'd until 5th June 2010 and taxed until January 2010. The car is located in Glasgow, and anybody who wishes to view the car is more then welcome to. I am happy to let people test drive the car as long as they can prove to me that they are insured to do so, otherwise I am more then happy to take people for a drive. I am happy to collect people from the local airport (Glasgow) or Glasgow Central Station if you choose to travel by train. Included with the car is a box of parts that I have bought and not used: 2 Land Rover Genuine Oil Filters Land Rover Genuine front brake pads Land Rover Genuine rear brake pads Land Rover Genuine wipers, both front and rears Land Rover Genuine Air Filter Land Rover Genuine Engine Oil (Gallon Bottle) Land Rover Genuine Anti Freeze (Half Gallon) And possibly a few others I have forgotten about. The asking price for the car is £5250 ono. Please bear in mind that it has had over £4000 spent on it in the last 18 months. Please feel free to call me on 07709 411 299, email me at dhallworth@googlemail.com Bad Points: There is a slight clunk from the car when on rough roads, I don't think this can be much as it wasn't picked up on at MOT time, there is also a slight vibration on the motorway between 70 and 80, this could be down to wheel balancing but I'm unsure. Now for the boring bit: I have been as honest as I believe I can in this advert. I invite people to view the car but I MUST STRESS that after previous experiences any buyers wishing to drive the car must prove to me that they have Fully Comprehensive insurance to do so otherwise I will be more then happy to take you for a run. Thanks for looking, David. |
