You are looking at a 1977 Lancia Montecarlo. This is a pretty rare car now and I believe there are only a few hundred official UK cars left in the UK. Now where do I start, I bought this car as a project and like many people things have not worked out as they should have. When I bought it there was a fuel leak which I traced to a leaky fuel pump which has now been replaced. I have also completely reconditioned the carb which also had a problem with the floats. I have also replaced the ignition leads, plugs and fitted a pressure regulator. After all this I can only just get the car running if I hold the throttle down half way. It's probably something stupid or it just needs tuning but I have not the time or the funds now to keep working on it so this is a good chance for someone to take on this project and get it running. In the late 90's the car had a full restoration which I have shown in the photos above and you can also see that it was a different colour. This owner spent thousands on the car which I have full restoration photos of and I have also loads of reciept for mechanical repairs to. All the tyres have good tread and the MOT only ran out in June of this year and by looking under the car I can see money has been spent on the brake lines. As the car has not been running the clutch has also seized but I'm sure once the car is running and warmed up that there is a chance it may free up but it does mean that the car will have to be transported away. Also you will see from the photo above that the paint is peeling off the rear bumper. The rest of the paint work is OK, there are a few chips out of the paint but for a 32 year old car I think it is in pretty good condition. I am truthfully gutted to see this car go and I know that it will make someone very happy as a little project for them. I have seen this cars selling in good condition for £5k upwards but obviously this car does need some work. I have been able to get many parts quite easily as 'The Monte Hospital' website shows that you can get most things. If you have any queries or would like to view the car please feel free to contact me. P.S The last owner has put on the American specification front Headlamps (Scorpion in the US) which I think look better. I do have a box full of old parts.
