Seller's description

Originating from c1878 comes this high quality woodblock engraving ( hand coloured)   , and depicting a most beautiful scene in the Lake district :- THIRLMERE . This is as seen from Ravens Crag , and shows what was then to be - the source of  water supply's to Manchester. Printed on good quality paper - with a central natural crease line - the back is clear of any text or other blemishes- it is dated at the top . Originating as a supplement  from the Landon News. One of the best engravings I have seen of this size and quality from this tabloid - colouring is excellent .  

Overall picture  size is 40 x54   cm's approximate
