This listing is for one spanner which has been selected to make changing the rubber coupler on KitchenAid blenders easier.  The gap between the blender body and the coupler is quite small and most spanners are too think to fit in the gap.  This spanner is well built from stainless steel.

When removing an old coupler please look between the coupler and blender body to idenfity where the flat parts of the spindle are.  You will need to engage the spanner with these and then hold the spanner still while you turn the coupler clockwise (the opposite way to which you would normally undo a screw or jar lid).  Normally the coupler will undo with only a small amount of frce, owever coupler that have been in place a long time or may have had some excessive load may have been tightened onto the spindle. 

In some case the coupler can be wound on so hard that the base of the couper deforms slightly.  This will make removal more difficult as the gap may have been reduced and the flats on the spindle obscured.  In these cases you may be able to tap the spanner into place with a mallet whilst checking that the spanner is lined up with the spindle.  In really difficult cases it is necessary to use a large screwdriver to prise the old coupler off.

As you can see, the spanner is a multi-tool originally designed as a bottle opener with screwdriver and spanner slots.  It should remain easy to find and not look too far out of place if left in the kitchen drawer.

 *** It has been necessary to modify some of the spanners to allow them to fit better on some blenders.  The modification removes some of the black coating to make the spanner thinner.  The other parts of the multitool still function exactly as before although the spanner may look a little less asthetically pleasing. ***

 The spanner is around 2.6mm thick which is much thinner than normal spanners. It a good strong tool that will fit easily on a keyring or in a kitchen drawer.
