Where a + or - follows a grading, it means the item is slightly better or worse than the official grade.

SS = still sealed, should be Mint and Unplayed.

Mint = cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.
Cassette is brand new

Near Mint = cover is nice and new looking with very slight signs of wear,
Cassette has some very slight surface marks, but with no lessening in sound quality.

EX = cover has some slight wear, and is still in nice collectible condition.
Cassette very clean, only light surface marks which will not distract significantly from the sound

VG = cover may have medium overall wear.
Cassette played often with moderate surface wear - still plays well.
