Keep On Dancin' With a music career spanning over 5 decades that earnt him the nickname "The Godfather of Disco" Mel was one of the first music industry insiders to promote and support the emerging disco music genre. Working at Scepter Records and then at West End he was there from disco's earliest underground days in black hispanic gay clubs through to the mainstream crossover of Studio 54 and Saturday Night Fever and the inevitable backlash that followed. This book documents the early days of disco music from a personal perspective through Mel's work in the record industry and involvment in the legendary club the Paradise Garage. Larry Levan, sex, drugs, gay life in the time of Stonewall riots and the tragic impact that AIDS had on the industry and his generation are all covered in this book. This copy is signed by the late Mel Cheren who recently passed away making it a must have for any serious music collector.
