Katana tsuka(handle) refurbishment service-same & ito

Send me your old tired tsuka and I will re-wrap and refurbish it for you. If your ito has started to come off I will replace it with new Japanese ito or cheaper synthetic if desired, and can also replace old plastic/worn same with new real same-kawa. I will then re-drill the same and can fit new mekugi if needed-I usually stock black polished buffalo horn and bamboo mekugi. Please phone 07958995979 to discuss options and current availability of ito and same etc. Typically this service costs £40-£70 including dometic recorded delivery-but will cost more if you require genuine Japanese silk ito etc. The pictures show a standard coloured same wrapped with cotton Japanese Ito and then fitted with black buffalo horn mekugi. The second picture shows Japanese Gunto cotton wrap, whilst the third picture shows a partially made tsuka still unwrapped. The fourth picture shows a display tsuka with white ito over black same-not to practical if you train hard! Whilst the 5th picture shows the previously shown Japanese gunto ito over black same. Typically upgrading to silk or black same costs more than the standard £45 and down grading to synthetic ito makes the overall price cheaper. Drilling and adding bamboo pegs is cheaper than adding polished buffalo horn! Please note that at the moment I am not making the wooden part to order-but am buying it pre-made so can only adjust this to a certain extent if required!
