It is a very decorative peace of modern porcelain art.
KPM is the abbreviation for Koenigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (Royal Porcelain Manufacture Berlin). This company exist since over 244 years and is known for their top-class porcelain all over the world.
This buddy baer was invented by Eva and Klaus Herlitz with the Austrian artist and sculptor Roman Strobl in 2001. This sculptor in bear shape appeared in the streets of Berlin individual designed by artists all over the world. The Buddy Bear tours all over the world and has a lot of friends.
There are 3 basic shapes: "The Dancer" stands upright with arms in the air, "The Friend" is the bear in its natural position on all 4 paws and ready to be stroked and at least "The Artist" which stands upside down.
The modell "Acrobrat" came out approx. 2002.
