On offer is this lovely and really interesting Bell from KPM.
Following an appeal launched in America by General Lucius Clay, a replica of the Liberty Bell was given, in 1950, to the citizens of Berlin in recognition of the troubles endured since the end of WWII. On 24 October 1950, United Nations Day, the bell was rung for the first time.
The bell on offer was produced to commemorate the event and BERLIN and 24.10.1950 appear on the top of the bell. The following is written around the base of the bell:
THAT THIS WORLD UNDER GOD SHALL HAVE A NEW BIRTH OF FREEDOM
The bell is 5 inches high, 4.25 inches in diameter at its widest and with a good, clear KPM stamp is offered in excellent condition.
