K-4 or DJG-4 heavy duty straight telegraph keys were made for the Chinese army. They were purchased from the Chinese army as surplus. It is great for hamradio and professional use, also a good choice to your collection.
Most K-4 Keys were made in the 1960s, but we are lucky to have those made in 1994 in stock. Supplies were limited. They are in factory new condition, NOS.
These K-4 telegraph keys were made by Changshu Telecommunication Equipment Factory. Not those made by the No. 1 branch of Changshu Telecommunication Equipment Factory, which looks similar, but the quality of the plating is not as good as these on this auction. You can easily distinguish them if you read the Chinese letters on the label on the base.
The keys have adjustable machined needle bearings, chrome plating, a felt pad on the base. The contacts were made of 99.95% pure hard silver. They weigh around two and a quarter pounds each.
They are 2-1/4 high, base dimensions are 4-3/4 x 2-1/2. The knob of handle is forward of the base about 1-1/2.
