Description

This is a beautiful piece of Art Deco sculpture which has remarkable detail given it's diminutive size.  It was cast in the Vienna arsenal Circa 1920s and is in excellent condition.  A version of this shape appears in Bryan Catley's definitive Art Deco Figures book.

This Bronze figure just screams Lorenzl - it is one of his most popular and classic sculptures, which is getting quite hard to find in this condition now.  She is made from bronze, which has a really nice gilt patination.  She sits on a lovely Brazilian onyx base, which is in excellent condition with no chips. 
 
Josef Lorenzl is one of the most collected names in Art Deco sculpture quite simply because his slim Art Deco ladies display such grace and elegance they look fantastic in any setting. Perhaps this is why his works have proven such a strong investment over the years.

 

 
The detail and styling is amazing, from her stylised windswept hair to her graceful pose.  If you only own one Lorenzl, you cannot get a more Art Deco piece than this. 

Note:This is a geniune original period piece and NOT a later recast. 
 
She is signed - Lorenzl to the bronze socle.
 
Condition: Excellent, It is possible that her silvered patina has been re-done.
 
Size: Approx 8.5 inches tall.


If you are looking for a genuine Art Deco period bronze you will not find better value than this.  It is a stunning example of Art Deco sculpture which will add a touch of class and drama to any Art Deco themed interior.
