Item Description

This is a signed serigraph on panel board by artist Jose Royo. The subject is a young woman with a ponytail tied with yellow ribbons. The ribbons appear to be flowing in the breeze. This flowing atmosphere is portrayed overall in sweeping brushstrokes, with a nod to classical and Baroque styles.

Artist Biography

It's easy to see Royo's (1945- ) early influences-Monet, Renoir, Velasquez, Goya, and Joaquin Sorolla- but the Valencia born artist has perfected a technique and style all his own. Jose Royo has exhibited in London, Brussels, Copenhagen and Paris, and has participated in the International Geneva Art Fair. His work holds pride of place in many prestigious public and private collections, including King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain.
