Description:
Here we have an artifact from the lesser known relationship the North East of Scotland had with Spain during the early 1900s and more specifically the relationship a few local higher ups had with Spains King.
This Portobello Gray & Sons jar was used to contain "John Moir & Son "The Seville" Orange Marmalade" which seemingly was produced in outlets in Aberdeen, London and Seville. It had be prepared under patent from the Spanish King which wouldn't have been too hard considering he honeymoon'd in the North East at Wardhouse and Fyvie Castle and held friendships with the Gordons both there in cherry business in Spain.
The jar itself is in fair condition. It does have a three way split crack in the front which is fragile however won't fall out without a good bang. Otherwise there is some red to the bottom of the jar but that's about it.
