Georgian Sterling Silver Coffee Pot 

Made in London at Amen Corner, by John Emes, in 1802..

A Superb Hand Raised Georgian Sterling Silver Coffee Pot.  Made by in London, in 1802, by John Eames.  A Large and Tall Oval Coffee Pot with a Fluted Acorn Finial.  A Wooden Scroll Handle and Reeded Borders.  A garland cartouche crested with an Aristocratic Lion head on one side, the other cartouche is blank .  Later engraved to the underside 'Sheila from Uncle Willie & Aunt Lila October 29th 1929'. Acorn finial over. Handle tight and good. Very decent weight at 26 ounces.   Absolutely classic style, really lovely proportion.  This is a very fine piece of Georgian Silver in exceptional condition of lovely proportion and quality.      

John Emes worked from  1796-1808.  Although in partnership with Henry Chawner made some pieces on his own account. John Emes married to Rebecca who ran the business at Amen Corner London, after his death. She went into business with Edward Barnard who between them made it a flourishing and respected firm of silversmiths.         

Condition:

The Marks:  Well Struck.  Makers mark a little worn.

The Coffee Pot:  Very Good.  No Splits, dents or repairs.  Sits flat.
